The Story Behind
Discover Me Schoolhouse and The Infant Room
My name is Shatiana, and I am the founder and director of Discover Me Schoolhouse and The Infant Room. Caring for children is a calling that I discovered while raising my own son and daughter.
When my son was only 9 months old, he was diagnosed with Wilms Tumor, a form of kidney cancer. This diagnosis shattered my world, and I grappled with accepting this harsh reality. But amidst the struggle, I faced another challenge: ensuring that my 5-year-old daughter received the support she needed. Her first year of school was incredibly tough due to the circumstances.
Even when my son went into remission and could attend school, he encountered difficulties. It was during this time that I realized the immense impact that quality early childhood education can have on children. Individualized care and education tailored to their unique interests and pace allowed my children to flourish.
And so, Discover Me Schoolhouse was born from this personal experience. Our team is now ready to support your family on this beautiful journey of learning and growth.

At Discover Me Schoolhouse and The Infant Room, our teachers are licensed and certified with the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC). They engage in ongoing professional development and hold First Aid and CPR certifications. With a combined child care experience of more than 20 years, our dedicated and dependable staff is committed to providing children with a fun-filled, active, and challenging learning experience.
